It's been a while since Mommy last posted our thoughts here. She was in a futile relationship that appeared pleasurable at the beginning, then got much much worse in a hurry. We think she's doing alright now, but one can only hope. Ex-Daddy came back into our lives, but things are not the way it was before. Perhaps time does change things. They've been together on and off for more that eight years now. We just hope Mommy would someday find grace if only for once in her life.
Mommy is back to school, so seeing her rushing on completing her assignments is common now. And she's hardly home. But when she does, she's often in the company of auntie Kole and Dida. They're always talking, sometimes sounding grave and serious, other times they laugh their maniacal laugh and shake the apartment, so when this happens, we run to take cover for the moment from any possible consequence. All in all, we think Mommy is holding on firmly to whatever she has left.
At night, we run and play hide and seek or shred the tissues lying around in the hall. Then we join Mommy in bed and give her a wet kiss on her nose. Sometimes she mutters things we don't understand. Sometimes tears roll down her cheek from her tightly closed eyes. Sometimes she wakes up, sees us and grabs us into her arms before going back to slumberland. Then we can tell when she has sweet dreams because she would be smiling just a tad, something oh-so-rare to see coming from her these days. Most of the time we try to shake ourselves out of her because when the night falls, we run and play, that's our slogan. But sometimes, we wold just stay in her warm embrace forever; it often feels like the safest place on earth.
Perhaps Mommy has screwed up in the past, landing her where she is right now. But we never stop praying that someday Mommy would be happy again. Seeing her truly happy inside out is like an assurance to us that life is a bed of roses. Everything seems right when Mommy's happy.
Anyway, here are new snapshots of us.

Mommy had a company dinner at Eden last Friday and she said if it wasn't for her jolly good colleagues, she would've killed herself in frustration. They had a regular Chinese course and that's it. No games, no lucky draw... nothing. Even the dinner came after much begging from most of them. Poor Mommy. She used to look forward to coming to work once. Now, we even have to wake her up at least 8 times before she would literally drag herself out of bed. And by then it would usually be between 9.30-10am, and work begins at 8.30.
After that, Mommy joined a group of girls to have an ass-kickin' time at Bar Savan. She said she had a great time dancing the night away.
And while Mommy was hitting the dancefloor, we were up to no good at home. So as always, we posed for the lens.
Isn't there a really fun thang we can do with Mommy besides wrestling with her in her bed or savouring the ocean breeze with her by the beach? Any ideas? We are in desperate need of crispy fresh ideas!

Mommy went to the National Zoo on Monday with her friend. As if she didn't have anything better to do. Mommy said the animals were on the brink of death. Poor animals. And here we are seeping the honeycups of life with Mommy. We should all be thankful for what we have, don't we?

Mommy took me and Joey to Bagan Lalang last Sunday, and tweo of Mommy's friends tagged along, Auntie Kole and Auntie Rima. This wasn't my first visit to Bagan Lalang. I've been there before on Mommy's birthday a few years back with ex-Daddy. But it is to Joey though, so it was fun watching how agitated he was on my harness. Mommy let me loose, knowing that I wouldn't be able to run well on the sany beach. The tide was uber low that day, so we didn't even get close to the water. But the sand was pretty wet, so before we know it, we were covered in messy sand. Ewwww. But t'was fun nevertheless. The sunset was never prettier in the city and the fresh smell of salt water made Mommy act funny... sentimental or something like that.
I overheard Mommy told Auntie Kole that she had a dream about walking down a sandy beach the night before, hence the idea of going to the beach. I know my Mommy well. She's such a sucker for beach effect. Her long-time dream is to build a beach house on a cliff by the beach where she would wake up to the sound of crushing waves and the fresh, salty scent. Oh, well. It doesn't matter what her dream is, really, as long as Joey and me are part of it!! Teehee

Mommy doesn't seem to prepare much for the coming new year celebration. Well, she never prepares much for ANY celebration, not even for her birthday (but our birthday is an acception!) But we think Mommy has some things planned out with some people during the festive season.
Anyway, here are some pics of us from Mommy's hp and camera shot recently. To Malaysians, young and old, Chinese, Malays and Indians alike...
GONG XI FA CHAI TO EVERYONE!!!
MAY YOU HAVE A GOOD ONE IN THE YEAR OF THE BOAR!

We're not sure who exactly Mommy is celebrating the V-Day with this year. We mean, other than with us. She always manages to abduct a male specimen at the very last minute when she needs one. But none really sticks longer than a week. Even Uncle Lecturer last a little over two months, and he was her college crush. We didn't even get through the orientation phase.
The only guy who keeps coming back to her, even as we speak, would be her first real boyfriend, ex-Daddy. They've been in an on-off relationship since the end of 1999 and right now, they're "just friends with benefits", as Mommy often puts it. He's the only one we're comfortable with. While we hate strangers to the point of hiding in the dark the whole day, we can roll on our back and doze off in his arms without hesitation. Ex-Daddy never fails to give us a good scratch on our back for hours! In fact, we overheard Mommy making a pact with him recently, entrusting him with custody of the two of us in account of Mommy's demise. Yup, she wanted to make sure we won't be left on the street as strays should anything happen to her, and she just can't trust anyone else, including her own family and friends.
Therefore, V-Day for us is Mommy's Day. Mommy, we love you forever and ever (and even more if you give us that scrumptious canned food more often!). We hope that our Mommy would find The One for her soon.
(Well, to be frank, we wished it would be ex-Daddy, but then again, it's really up to her, isn't it?)

Let me tell you a thing or two about my brother Joey. He's such an ass-kisser, running toward Mommy with a cute face everytime she comes home from work, uttering the sweetest meow a feline could ever do. He would respond to Mommy every single time she calls for him. Hell, he would respond to Mommy everytime she calls for ME! He's always out to please Mommy, not realising how much Mommy loves me more. And he wins by a thousand points around Mommy's family and friends.
Sometimes Joey makes me sick. He's just not the independent type, always tagging behind me wherever I go and whatever I do. And his manja-ness is a little bit overdose. But the truth is, I can't live without him. In those days when I had no one, life felt lifeless. Joey came when I needed a friend the most. And despite his thick skull and abundant of icky manja-ness, Joey is the best friend and brother a cat could ever have. And I love him to bits.
Here's my brother Joey in all different shots you can think of. Being popular surely comes easy for him.
