Knight enjoys lots of fun activities, be it rigorous or not. That would include teasing me, chasing me around the house, screaming loudly for Mommy's attention and snoring on the ironing board by the window. But his Numero Uno favourite past time would definitely be looking out the window watching the world beneath go round. Knight could sometimes spend up to an hour just sitting by the window, peeking out. Sometimes he's enchanted by the games the school kids play during recess at the school across the street. Other times his eyes follow the vehicles passing by. But most of the time, he makes friends with the birds who never fail to pay him a visit on a daily basis. They probably exchange point of views based on what they see, but I never get around to understand their body language.
Mommy would leave the windows wide open everyday when she's at work, and Knight is smart enough to know that jumping out would mean no more heavenly abode, sleeping on fresh white sheets, good food to gobble and a goofy brother to pick on. I like the fact that Mommy gives him her absolute trust and Knight wisely shows that it's worth it.
Me? I'd rather watch the guppy fish Mommy keeps under her glass dining table. They're more fascinating to me than anything else. Plus, it's my favourite spot where I can watch an underwater show, then slowly doze off to slumberland. In the afternoon it can get super hot and all this fur only makes it worse. The iciness of the glass helps balance my body temperature. Ain't I one smart kitty?

Bedtime stories

Mommy came home pretty late last nite. Her voice sounded coarse a bit, so we guessed it was karaoke with her TF homies. We think it was around 11.30pm when she got home. She probably had a good day as she didn't seem so broody as she normally would when she returns home late. Then she took a quick shower as usual before throwing herself into bed. Mommy makes this rule to herself or anyone sharing her bed (we're not telling who!!!  ): No one can jump into her bed without first taking a shower. Well, no one but us  ! So after her shower, we tailed her into bed and wrestled each other around before dozing off next to Mommy dearie. She tried to snap photos of us... unsuccessfully. Here are what she got though.

"Stay off, I'm watching the pilot of Ugly Betty," Mommy said. Since we were warned off, we decided to play around with the camera. Yeah, we're no Ugly Betty, Mommy, but we're Pretty Knight-and-Joey. We don't need you to watch us, the WHOLE WORLD will.

We've known of Mommy's pension for Egyptian cotton sheets since... forever! She loves fresh bedsheets that swallows her thick physique luxuriously. Although lately she's been browsing Hallmark's Egyptian cotton sheets with price tags that she could look at without rolling her eyes, the truth is, Mommy can't afford such opulence. Maybe not yet. So for now, she settles for 100% cotton sheets with well above 300 thread counts. The least I can do for my personal comfort, she often says.
And she has a thing for white sheets. The sheets she lays her body on can be embossed, plain or embroidered even, although the latter's not her personal preference, but it HAS to be white under any circumstances. Or at least ivory or vanilla. Her eyes seem to savour the fresh flavour of it and her skin might worship the immaculate touch of it, and our guess is, it probably turns her on in ways we can't imagine. Mommy is such a sucker for lily-white effect. Unfortunately for her, we feel the same way about white sheets. Hence, the hairy sheets.

Mommy had doubts about putting Joey in, despite her friend's urge to try out at the Fun Cat Show held during UKM's 2006 Convocation in Bangi. She was concerned about Joey's emotion. Such show, she said, could either strengthen or tear Joey's confidence. She didn't want the latter to happen. But she knew such experience could be worthy nonetheless, so eventually they were in.
I wasn't put in because Mommy didn't think I would win. "The world would think you're unpretty and ordinary," she said. "But in my heart, you'll always be my Number One." I know that. It's obvious. I always come first in her life, probably because we've shared so many bittersweet moments together since the past two years. She'd do everything she could to make me happy. With Mommy like mine, who cares what the world thinks of me?
Anyway, this isn't about me. This is about Joey. He finished third under Domestic Long Hair Male Kitten category. "What a beautiful Turkish Van lookalike you are! Your hair is so clean and soft... and that lovely face! Oh, isn't he a beauty?!" the judge said. Despite his fear of the crowd and the sulking, he made us all proud. I wished I was there. I could at least keep him company and spare him the agony of being caged alone around strangers. But it was our first time participating in a show, so I could understand why Mommy didn't consider taking me along.
Thanks to Joey, we enjoyed premium food for free for a month full!
